The territory

Tenuta Vigne a Porrona is located in the municipality of Cinigiano in the province of Grosseto. The heart of the Maremma hinterland, between the Ombrone Valley, the Val d’Orcia and the western slopes of Monte Amiata, is characterised by soils rich in minerals, a Mediterranean-type climate and the presence of constant ventilation, characteristics that allow a perfect ripening of the grapes.

Here Sangiovese is the absolute protagonist of the two appellations, Montecucco Sangiovese DOCG and Morellino di Scansano DOCG. The international grapes are used instead for the production of Baby Super Tuscans.

The Estate

Tenuta Vigne a Porrona, located at an altitude of 350m a.s.l., extends over 25 hectares where high quality grapes are cultivated. The estate grows Sangiovese but also international grapes such as Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah.

The Vigne a Porrona wines

Morellino di Scansano DOCG and Montecucco Sangiovese DOCG are two versions of pure Sangiovese with well-defined characters: the first wine is enhanced by the fruit fragrance, the second one is characterised by structure and complexity of aroma.
