The Wine

Selection of grapes from Tenuta La Fuga, Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Le Due Sorelle is produced exclusively in the best years.
Le Due Sorelle is a tribute to Giovanna and Fabia Cornaro, respectively wife and sister-in-law of Ambrogio Folonari.
The 2019 vintage began with a cold, dry winter. A rainy spring created water reserves that protected the vines during a dry summer, ensuring excellent ripening and veraison, with cool nights ideal for aromas and color. From mid-September, the cool, breezy, yet sunny weather allowed the Sangiovese to achieve perfect maturation, rich in aromatic and polyphenolic potential.

Production area: in the vineyards of Tenuta la Fuga, south-west of Montalcino, on the historic slope of Camigliano
Altitude: around 350 mt a.s.l.
Soil composition: medium-textured clay, rich in skeleton
Training system: low spur-pruned cordon

The Grapes

Grape variety: Sangiovese
Planting pattern: 5,000 plants per hectare

In the winery

Vinification: fermentation in stainless steel and maceration for approximately 4 weeks
Aging: at least 48 months in big-oak barrels, before refining in the bottle
Alcohol content: 14.5%
